On the evening of May 23rd, 2024, we updated the iOS and Android apps in the App Store with a major code update, which included not only our new Pushup Protocol with Deontay Wilder, but also made updates to a large number of our 3rd party package dependencies.

Three of these new dependencies all shared the same issue β€” they failed to comply with a new Android 14 requirement around how to register their activity with the phone's operating system. This caused an instant crash for all users opening the new app version on any device running Android 14.

We identified this issue in the afternoon of May 24th, and by that evening we had a fix submitted to Google. Google was a bit slow to approve our fix, but at 11:30am PT on May 25th, Google approved the fix.

The version that crashed was v2024.05.2404. If you have that version and you're on Android 14, it'll be crashing every time.

The remediation is to update your app to the latest version in the Google Play Store, which will be v2024.05.2503

Your Mental app should auto-update without you doing anything, at which point everything should work normally. Please reach out to us at [email protected] if you're seeing any crashing or other issues on this new version.
